Distance covered by motorcycle: ~353 km
Route: Brampton → Mississauga → Cambridge → Ingersoll → West Lorne → Tilbury → Windsor → LaSalle
With the early morning sun barely breaking the horizon, eight riders fired up their engines in Brampton, Ontario, officially beginning their 21-day Route 66 adventure. The goal: conquer the Mother Road all the way to Santa Monica, then loop back home via a different trail — creating not just a ride, but a lifelong memory.
First Stops & Blessings
The group made a brief stop at Ontario Khalsa Darbar in Mississauga for blessings — a moment of gratitude and good fortune before hitting the long road ahead. Spirits were high, laughter echoed under helmets, and the excitement of what lay ahead charged the air.
First Fuel-Up & Dealer Visit
Next was a visit to Blackbridge Harley-Davidson in Cambridge. Some of us checked our bikes, grabbed dealer swag, and snapped some photos. It was a good excuse to stretch the legs before pushing deeper southwest.
Cruising Through Ontario
We hit major stops including:
- Ingersoll Travel Plaza – A quick coffee and bathroom break.
- ONroute West Lorne – Tank top-ups and energy boosts.
- ONroute Tilbury North – Another fuel stop, prepping to roll into Windsor.
Despite being day one, we were already settling into our rhythm — fuel, ride, coffee, repeat. The road brought peace and adrenaline in equal measure.
Windsor Arrival & Late-Night Bite
By early evening, we reached Windsor, grabbed dessert at D Spot, then made our way to Ambassador Plaza for a nightcap snack run at FreshCo. We finally parked our bikes at a friend’s home in LaSalle around 10:42 PM — tired but thrilled. The road had officially welcomed us.
Highlights of the Day:
- Total motorcycle distance: ~353 km
- Stops: 3 ONroutes, 2 Tim Hortons, Harley-Davidson dealership, spiritual visit
- Riding hours: ~3 hrs 48 mins actual ride time
- Memorable moment: Quiet reflection at Ontario Khalsa Darbar before roaring westward.
Please send the next day’s image when you’re ready, and I’ll keep building this story. We can format these into a multi-part blog series for 2Wheelers.ca — something like:
“Eight Riders. One Dream. The Route 66 Chronicles — Day 1 to 21”
Let’s keep it rolling!
